Appeal system against unfavourable assessment of competence

As a Monarch College Candidate you have the right to appeal against the decision of your Assessor if you feel the assessment provided to you is unfair.  You may appeal by following the below procedures.

Stage 1         

  • Candidate will provide a written request to assessor explaining why they feel the assessment provided to them is unfair.
  • Assessor meets with candidates to discuss appeal.
  • If agreement is reach no further action is required.

Stage 2

  • If no agreement is reached the candidate requests a meeting with the internal verifier to discuss the appeal.
  • An appeal report is completed by the internal verifier and signed by both parties
  • If agreement is reached no further action is required.

Stage 3

  • If no agreement is reached the internal verifier puts the appeal notice forward to the Assessment Board.
  • Assessment Board requests meeting with Candidate to consider appeal.
  • An appeal report is completed by a member of the assessment board
  • If agreement is reached no further action is required.

Stage 4

  • If no agreement is reached the appeal notice will be referred to the awarding body,
  • The decision of the awarding body is final.
